SM-102 is a cationic lipid used for transfection and formulation of nucleic acid-based therapeutics. It is supplied as a solution in ethanol at 10 mg/mL concentration by Bionordika. Some key features of SM-102 include its ability to form small and stable nucleic acid-containing nanoparticles, enable effective cytosolic delivery and endosomal escape of nucleic acids, and exhibit low toxicity. SM-102 is compatible with various nucleic acid payloads including mRNA, siRNA, and DNA. The 100 mg quantity is sufficient for formulating 10 mL of 10 mg/mL liposomes. SM-102 can facilitate effective delivery of nucleic acid therapeutics in vitro and in vivo.
